    I regret to announce that Kristin Redden has resigned as Miss Deaf Arkansas 2001-2003 due to personal conflict and she handed her crown and sash to her next succession (first runner up) to Caroline Summers. When I informed Caroline if she would accept this prestigious position and she gladly accepted and embrace her new image to all age of deaf and hard of hearing Arkansas community.

    Right now, Miss Deaf Arkansas Caroline Summers is 24 years old and worked two jobs (part time at Wal-Mart in shoe dept. & part time Art Teacher at private school - Faith Christian High School at Little Rock- she did not have an interpreter but she is using oral and sign language teaching the students as "double language" art class). Her goal is to complete the educational program at University of Arkansas at Little Rock and earning a Master's Degree in Deaf Educator or Vocational Rehabilitation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

    The next Miss Deaf Arkansas Pageant will be in July 5, 2003 at Arkansas School for the Deaf - Woolly Auditorium.
